The term in lace work for the large mesh, which is surrounded with small picots in point lace, having a six-sided buttonhole bride, fringed with a small row of three or four picots on each side. (Also called Bride Epinglee and Bride Boucle) -

French needle-point lace - similar to Alencon - net ground with large patterns made higher and bolder than Alencon, closer toile than in Alencon, greater variety of brides, especially the bride picotee, the ground is the grande bride, a six-sided mesh. Early specimens called Point de France. It takes its name from Argentan (Normandy) where it was made. The patterns are bolder than in Alencon lace. Only specimens can now be seen, as the fabric is obsolete. -
5 Point Lace
Lace made with the needle (see Lace) having some parts of the pattern only slightly raised in relief and united by stitches called Bride picotee.
